Stretched Hexie Flowers Quilt

This is the third quilt I have finished from a bunch of rectangles I cut for a scrap quilt. Here is the first one and here is the second. I still have a box of hexagons that haven't been used.

I appliqued the flowers onto neutral background squares and then added a red, central pentagon. The quilting is hand sewn with #8 perle cotton and I used a navy and white striped binding. The backing is a vanilla colored Moda fabric called Grunge Seeing Stars. I started it Aug. 14, 2020 and finished it Dec. 4. The quilt size is 45" x 60".

Gen Z Quilt

I made this quilt top in 4 or 5 days back in early September (2020). It sat for awhile as I worked on a couple of other projects. Eventually, I decided to have it quilted by a local long arm quilter and really loved how it turned out. She used gold colored thread and a loopy design so it is a good contrast to the sharp angles of the blocks.

The finished size is 65" x 76". It has a striped binding and my favorite newsprint backing.
